Don’t Be Afraid of AI. It’s Here to Help You

Lately, many of you have been asking about privacy and data security when using AI features on the BlindShell Classic 3. These questions are completely understandable and most often relate to Luna and Observo.

Luna is our virtual assistant that helps with everyday tasks such as setting an alarm, adding a contact, or creating a calendar event. She can also handle more general questions, for example when you want quick help with a recipe or need to find information you are looking for. Observo is another useful feature that can describe what is in a photo, identify colors, read text from an image, and translate it when needed. This is especially helpful when you are looking at text in a foreign language.

The image shows two BlindShell Classic 3 button phones standing side by side. One is in ocean blue, the other in a golden sand color. The phones gently stand out against a dark background and are surrounded by a soft white glow that symbolizes artificial intelligence and the internal processes of the device. To the left of the phones is an orange Luna icon, representing the virtual voice assistant as a face profile with sound waves. On the right is an orange magnifying glass symbol representing the Observo feature.

So what does this mean for your privacy? The good news is that AI features never start on their own. You do not need to worry about your phone listening to you without your knowledge. Luna and Observo only work when you actively use them or ask them for help.

When you use Luna, only the information you provide is sent to the AI service. This is usually the text of your question or command. With Observo, it is the photo you want to be described. If you use voice dictation, your speech is first converted into text so the phone can process it.

Now for the most important part. BlindShell does not store the content of your questions or the photos you ask to be described. We do not save query texts, images, or any identifiers that could be linked to a specific phone. Communication passes through our server mainly for technical reasons, such as ensuring service stability and handling possible outages, not for storing content.

You also have a lot of control in your own hands. For example, you can completely turn off AI features in Luna. If you want even more control over your privacy, we recommend a simple rule that applies to all AI services. Do not share highly sensitive information such as passwords, ID numbers, or details you would not normally send in a message.

We hope this has answered your questions and eased any concerns. Luna and Observo can truly become helpful companions in everyday life. If you have not tried them yet, give them a chance. Often, just a few uses are enough to discover how helpful they can be in everyday situations. And if you ever have questions or need help with settings, feel free to contact us. We are always happy to help.

Against a dark background, three graphic symbols representing technology, security, and artificial intelligence are displayed. On the left is an orange shield with a lock, symbolizing data protection and security. In the center is an orange gear with electronic circuit elements, representing technological processes and artificial intelligence. On the right is a blue stylized network of electronic connections resembling a circuit board, representing digital infrastructure, connectivity, and data flow.
